Apology time. It has definitely been over 48 hours since my first (and only) post. And for the silliest of reasons: I seriously could not pick a single topic to write about for this second entry. Lame, I know!
On the plus side, I have had time to think and process some random thoughts, from what I love about corn, which t-shirt is the softest, why cats are particularly amusing to watch, and who my favourite 'superhero' is. I am fairly certain that these very important topics all flooded my headspace within thirty seconds or less of each other.
For starters, corn can be added to just about any meal, bringing a sweet, tiny golden crunch with it. My newest, grey t-shirt that quips "I'm so retro" is definitely a current contender for the softest cotton garment that I possess, with it's generous neck opening and appropriate overall length (all very important in the land of Asperger's and clothing).
As a newcomer to the world of cat owners, or being owned by a kitty or two, I am continually finding their behaviour and personalities fascinating, especially as they not only try to overrule their humans, but also decipher their rabbit counterparts. It must be their genius that I am drawn to. One Sir Kitty has already decided that he will no longer be climbing the 'child gate' to the hall and bedrooms, as the effort is evidently beneath him, so he shall wait calmly and regally for the humans to open it for him and allow him to cross the barrier with utmost serenity. Clever kitty owns his humans already. We oblige his commands.
Whenever the topic of the best superhero is raised (surprisingly quite often in my 'anti-social' circle) my argument does not change and remains the same for as long as I can recall. Yes, I do admire Superman, with his powers from his home planet, and his determination to use them for good in a world where he is alien. But my heart belongs to the 'anti-hero' of sorts: Batman.
He does not possess 'super powers', in fact, he worked and fought extremely hard for his incredible physical strength that he teams with intelligence. Yes, he is a multi-billionaire, has awesome vehicles and a massive home deep in a cave, but he stands for something that is prominent at my very core: justice!
In a world that often isn't fair and sees many unworthy people get away with such wrongdoings, I can only hope to be even a fraction as vigilant in the community as my superhero of choice. Batman may not sit clearly on just one side of the good Vs. evil fence, but he rights the many wrongs of society where he can, and gets to use some wonderful toys along the way. Now, excuse me, I have a very big cape to fill...
